STACEY LYONS, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Stacey was promoted to Executive Director in November 2008. She joined HAVEN staff in November 2005 as the Administrative Assistant. In December 2006 she was promoted to the Client Advocate position and in May 2008, Stacey was promoted to Shelter Coordinator. Stacey brings three years of experience with HAVEN programs and a proven ability to provide leadership and guidance for survivors of domestic abuse. She holds a B.A. in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining HAVEN, Stacey held various social service positions in Oklahoma and Pennsylvania. Stacey enjoys fly-fishing on local rivers and abroad.
KRYSTAL REDMOND-SHERRILL, LEGAL ADVOCATE
Krystal is a Montana native and an MSU graduate. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology while learning a passion for advocacy working at the VOICE Center on the MSU campus. Along with participating in “Take Back the Night” marches and the Survivor Monologues, Krystal has a variety of skills she brings to her position as legal advocate. Coming from a financial institution, she is savvy with numbers and is available to explain the ins and outs of financial security. When she isn’t working, you can find her hiking or fly fishing, floating down the Madison river, and taking advantage of the outdoor opportunities living in Bozeman presents.
ANNA EDWARDS, CLIENT ADVOCATE
Anna joined HAVEN in September 2009 as the Client Advocate. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Montana State University and a Masters in Intercultural Youth and Family Development from the University of Montana in Missoula. As a student at MSU she completed her internship with the VOICE Center as well as volunteered with SASA. Anna worked in California and New Mexico before returning to her home town Bozeman. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and being outdoors.
ELIZABETH PORTH, DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
Elizabeth graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL with a major in Sociology and a minor in Business Institutions. While in Chicago, she spent time interning in development and marketing positions with The Fairgygodmother Foundation, helping terminally adults, and Planned Parenthood. She wrote her senior thesis on organizational resource chains in rural and urban domestic violence programs. Elizabeth was very active her in campus’ College Feminists and planned Take Back the Night her senior year.
BRIT MEIERS, AmeriCorps VISTA
Brit just joined HAVEN’s team in July as the new AmeriCorps VISTA. She will be working on the Education Program developing a sustainable curriculum for the Peer Education group in Belgrade as well as other community organizations. When not hard at work Brit enjoys reading, writing, jogging, yoga, hiking in the great outdoors, skiing, and trying new things.
COLLEEN CRANE , OVERNIGHT & WEEKEND ADVOCATE
Colleen Crane joined HAVEN’s team in 2008 as Weekend & Overnight Staff. Ms. Crane holds her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan and is a licensed social worker by the State of Montana. Ms. Crane has an extensive background in providing services to survivors of domestic violence and has a private practice in Bozeman.
ADI FLORY, CRISIS LINE ADVOCATE
Adi just joined Haven’s staff in September 2009 as the evening crisis line advocate. Currently, she is in her last year at MSU studying Spanish and History, with a focus on Latin American/Latino Studies. Adi has been involved as an advocate with the VOICE Center for three years and is currently serving as a SASA co-president. When not working, studying, or volunteering with the VOICE Center (which isn’t often!), she can be found spending time with friends, floating the Jefferson, hiking the M, traveling to various corners of the world, or playing with her dog Sitka-Su.
HETTIE JANS WORTELBOER, LICENSED CLINICAL COUNSELOR
Hettie Jans Wortelboer has worked and volunteered with HAVEN since 2004, and worked on the issue of domestic violence since 1999. She facilitates support groups and provides individual therapy for women with a history of domestic violence. After returning to school and studying with her children at the dinner table, she received her Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Great Falls, and has a BA in Psychology and a BS in Sociology. Hettie has a busy private practice in Livingston working mostly with children with a history of abuse and neglect. Hettie also runs two support groups for HAVEN: “I absolutely love working with the women in group and it is wonderful to be able to facilitate the healing process. Women in the group are so strong and supportive of each other, allowing and respecting each individual process.” She adds with a smile: “Contrary to some beliefs, we do not spend a lot of time talking about the abusive partners, but focus on how to move on, heal the pain, and grow into that potential of strong, compassionate, and wonderfully creative women.”
